Today I’m teaching 7th grade English at the middle school I graduated from ten years ago.
My fourth grade teacher is bopping about the building today, and most of my teachers still hold the same position today that they did all those years ago.
It’s really freaking weird.
A teacher with whom I did my practicum a few years back has since gotten married and impregnated and I’m an obvious shoe-in to take over her classes but…I’m not sure I’ll apply. This week I’m subbing everyday and still doing 40+ hours as mr manager at the brewery. I can handle that kind of overscheduling every once in a while, but I think I’d be miserable trying to do it all the time. I think I’ll just keep taking 1-2 week stints and random days. For my sanity.
